FORTRESS HOUSE
Completed in 2013, Fortress House is a fully detached five-bedroom eco-home set within the Dulwich Wood Conservation Area in South East London. The house is organised around a U-shaped plan enclosing a central glazed courtyard, allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the interior throughout the day.
A 40-metre stained timber wall creates a strong sense of privacy and enclosure, while full-height glazed sliding doors on both levels establish a seamless connection between interior spaces and the courtyard. Drawing on traditional courtyard typologies, the house balances openness and security within a refined, contemporary architectural language.
